Spinal Rehabilitation Therapy

spinal rehabilitationAt Advanced Care Chiropractic and Wellness Center we offer a variety of spinal rehabilitation therapies to compliment your chiropractic care, help you eliminate pain and move toward true wellness.

Inferential Therapy

Interferential therapy is used on most patients upon arrival before any other treatment. It’s meant to relax the muscles around the injured area, it increases blood flow to the area, and it allows spinal changes to be made more quickly. In acute cases, we may use icing at same time. Sessions last about 15 minutes and then you will see Dr. Tyson.

Spinal Traction

Traction is very passive, it’s non-invasive, and most patients find it to be very relaxing, as it removes pressure off the spine. Treatment lasts about 8 minutes initially, and as the patient adapts it may progress to 15 minutes and then up to a maximum of 20 minutes.

We have over 120 different types of traction, and the types Dr. Tyson would potentially use in your case depends upon what your X-rays show.

Denneroll

“Spinal remodeling,” as Dr. Tyson likes to refer to Denneroll traction, “is designed to apply forces into the spine, allowing ligaments to stretch so that we can get the curves back to where they need to be.” Denneroll traction can be viewed as starter traction. We may use it for a few initial visits until your spine gets used to being in a healthier position, and then progress with more aggressive traction methods.

Denneroll is also used for maintenance after traction therapy in the office. You can easily take the roll home and use it daily.

Intersegmental Traction

Intersegmental therapy is a relaxing treatment used to help keep the spine and the discs between the vertebrae of the spine flexible and mobile as to promote health and healing to the entire spine through motion.
