What to Expect

Let’s Get Started on the Path to Better Health

When you arrive at Advanced Care Chiropractic and Wellness Center you can expect to see smiling faces and we will know who you are. It’s important to our staff to learn the names of our patients. Greeting you by name is one of many ways we work to help you feel welcomed.

Your First Visit

  • Midlothian Chiropractic BioPhysicsSet aside about 60 minutes for the appointment
  • Dress in casual and comfortable clothing
  • Print the new patient paperwork and fill it out, or
  • Plan to fill out the paperwork in the office once you arrive
  • Bring your ID and insurance information

Once you arrive, you can expect:

  • A friendly greeting and a review of your paperwork
  • An escort to the exam room
  • We’ll discuss your health history and what you are going through
  • Check for functionality in all parts of your spine
  • Check the neurology of your spine
  • An examination of your range of motion
  • Give you a strength test
  • Take X-rays, if needed

Depending on your condition, Dr. Tyson may adjust you on the first visit. But more often he prefers to take time to study your X-rays and mark them so that he can know what’s going on in your spine. In these cases you will receive your first chiropractic adjustments with physical therapy and begin treatment at a second visit we call the Report of Findings (ROF).

Report of Findings Visit

During your Report of Findings (ROF), Dr. Tyson will go over your X-rays and present his findings. He’ll explain how your symptoms are related to the issues from your exam and what the X-rays reveal.

Together you will put together a treatment plan that works for you and agrees with the protocol we have in place for treating your particular condition. And then once your questions are answered, your care will begin!

The length of this visit depends on the severity of your condition and the way we choose to address it. Regardless, your visit after the report of findings will look much like a typical visit, as detailed below.

Subsequent Visits

While other chiropractors are managing pain, we are making a real difference in our patients overall health through rehabilitative care to the spine with chiropractic adjustments and physical therapy to actually addressing the cause of your pain and not just treating your symptoms.

When receiving treatment at our office, plan to spend about an hour with us so we can take you through the full process of physical therapy and chiropractic care to maximize your healing and to get your curves back.  Depending what your chiropractic care plan is, here’s what to expect when you visit our office:

Ongoing Wellness Care

Most people choose to see a dentist regularly in order to keep their teeth clean and healthy.  Our spines are even more important.  The nervous system is your body’s control system and is made up of the spinal cord, the brain and all the nerves.  It sends, receives, and processes nerve impulses throughout the body.  These nerve impulses tell your muscles and organs what to do and how to respond to the environment.   It is so important to our everyday living as it is the only system of our body to be completely incased in 100% solid bone.  The spinal bones, in which Dr. Tyson adjusts and treats, protect your spinal cord, so having your spine checked is of the utmost importance to your overall health and well-being as a person grows and ages.  “In the long term, you’ll be healthier and happier if you choose to maintain your spine than to address issues as the come up later,” says Dr. Tyson.

We never force care upon our patients. The level of care you seek is entirely up to you. But from years of experience we know that patients tend to realize they feel great and can do more with their friends and families when they exercise preventive care. They’re able to do the activities that pain has limited them from in the past, and they realize that if they keep up with their spinal care, they continue to feel great and be happier with their lives!
