Meet Chiropractor Dr. Shawn Tyson

Helping People Return to Function

Dr. Tyson, Midlothian chiropractorDr. Shawn Tyson became interested in chiropractic after sustaining a neck injury as a college football player. He sought medical treatment for his injury to no avail, and was eventually referred to a chiropractor who helped him to total health and wellness.  This experience changed his views on holistic chiropractic medicine.  At that point he knew he wanted to be part of a field of doctors who could help people through natural means without the use of drugs, injections or surgery.

Chiropractic is exciting to Dr. Tyson because he’s able to make changes in people’s health and see an overall increase in their well-being. “People are healthier, happier, and able to do the things they love to do,” says Dr. Tyson.

“My primary professional objective is improving my patients’ quality of life, where other medical avenues have failed to produce positive results.  People deserve to live their lives pain free and do the things they love to do everyday.”

Bringing About Lasting Change

A graduate of Life University of Chiropractic in Atlanta, GA, Dr. Tyson has chosen to focus his practice on a more spinal rehabilitation approach than typical chiropractors do. He utilizes Chiropractic BioPhysics® (CBP), which is like looking at the spine from a structural engineering perspective.  Chiropractic BioPhysics® (CBP), combines both chiropractic care as well as physical therapy specific to the ligaments, tendons and muscles that support the spinal bones.

Both pre- and post-X-rays are taken during treatment to actually see the changes that are being made in the spine. And the goal is to bring the spine back to as near normal of a state as possible. This method combines physical therapy and chiropractic together to affect lasting spinal change, and not just bring symptomatic change.

CBP® in short, is a higher level of chiropractic that actually corrects the problem and allows the patient to maintain the correction. It is a more knowledgeable, comprehensive, systematic, scientific approach to chiropractic that provides objective and predictable results for patients.
